EMMA COATES QUARTET

This quartet are our young, up and coming artists this year.  

The Emma Coates Quartet is a straight ahead jazz group made up of graduates of Leeds Conservatoire, with Emma Coates on saxophone and vocals, Harry Souter on bass, Joseph Frost-Tesfaye on piano and Louis Berthoud on drums. 

Seamlessly blending favourite standards with original compositions, the group has an openness when playing together inspired by hard bop and the great trios of that era - Sonny Rollins and Joe Henderson, to name but a few.

There is great chemistry between the four musicians, blending to make a lovely sound and a great Saturday afternoon festival vibe.
